Act Now to Extend the Energy Efficiency Tax Incentives
By: Company - Tuesday, February 12, 2008
Source: Energy Center
The California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) strongly supports renewable energy and energy efficiency by administering programs including the California Solar Initiative, the Solar Water Heating Pilot Program, and the Energy Resource Center, which demonstrates best practices in energy technologies and techniques. The success of these programs is due in part to the tax credits given to those who install solar or energy efficient technologies. These federal tax credits are set to expire by the end of 2008.
The United States Congress is currently debating the extension of renewable energy tax credits (the Investment Tax Credit for solar energy and CleanTech, and the Production Tax Credit for renewable electricity generation.) The future of these important tax credits is now uncertain—therefore, CCSE strongly endorses signing the letter linked below.
Tell the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate to extend the tax credits which will continue to support the current pace of investment, project development, and technology breakthroughs in renewable energy.
CCSE strongly recommends signing the letter by Tuesday, February 12th at 5:00 p.m. EST.
